It would all depend on what you propose as s government. Do you mean as a group of players comes together or the government before the zombies came? A dictatorship would work best in a small group of 1-4 but for larger groups of 10+ I would say communist so long as it is done right. As for play style if your more into raiding I would say monarchy but  if your into rebuilding and defending from raiders and thief’s I would go wi democracy or republic. What does everyone have to say to this?

Looks like we have a couple of no-goods who ain't steppin a got-darn foot on my land.

Why what system of government would you have? I’ve lived in a democracy my whole life and would love to try living in a different state of government.

Democracy. I do understand wanting to experiment though, the other post was a joke.

In a zombie apocalypse there would be no government. With an outbreak like that it would be total chaos. No one would really be thinking of a government, it would be case of just trying to survive, most people would not care about leadership. After the initial outbreak there would be people that band together and create a small communities here and there with one person acting as leader/spokesperson but that would be about it.

That's the way i see it happening... just my opinion.

As Onyx stated at the top of the post, it's just a friendly debate.

Everyone is going to have a different idea on how the world goes up in smoke when the apocalypse starts

..i dont think it can be either "theocratic" or a "dictatorship"

*there is no structure or priests,so it cant be theocratic

*there is no ruler or dictator,so it cant be a dictatorship.

I dont think there is actually a term for it, because its for all intents and purposes impossible to exist, much like human zombies :)

If it had to have a title ,perhaps "Amorphous Government of God" ?

America is kind of a mix of everything, isn't it? You got socialist policies like medicare, obamacare, social security. You got more democracy the lower level you go in government, and democratically elected leaders. You have a republic on the federal level, like you said. Almost all politicians have incredible wealth, plutocracy like Winslow said.

By technical definition only communities would exist, working for the collective, sharing collectively, therefore in could be argued a selection of leaders would set "targets" and the community would follow them through, in short communism.

Heck even if committee members where "elected"/elected it can still be argued to be "democratic" communism.

You see unless the community is large enough (very unlikely) you cant have meaningful opposition party's, its a one party state where it is instead emphasized that each committee member has there own political leanings.

More technically its tribalism that would thrive.

*Other: A Meritocracy HANDS DOWN. Anything else is just politics and bribery in my opinion.

The US is a Federal Republic, not a Democratic Republic.

You just gained a customer on that single stated missing factoid of American lifestyle that so many seem to ignore. ;)
